Students learn to master the fundamentals of playing the piano in less time than other methods with our specially designed “Silva Piano Method©”. This approach is the result of over 20 years of research. Together, we have more than 60 years of combined teaching experience.

In only one year, beginners as young as five years old can learn how to play and read music at a level that is normally achieved in 3-5 years with other methods and adults are able to play their first Bach, Beethoven and Chopin pieces!

Intermediate and advanced students focus on developing technique and repertoire. There are a number of venues in which our students perform such as the Fernbank Museum, retirement homes, piano competitions and other recurring recital opportunities. A number of our students have successfully auditioned for various university music programs, completed advanced degrees in music and are professional musicians or teachers.

Prospective students are normally invited to contact us to schedule a free lesson/audition however, our teaching schedules are completely full at this time. You may contact us to get on our waiting list!

Spring Break and Makeup Lesson Week

We hope you are all enjoying your Spring Break! Dr. Silva will be making up missed lessons from the Spring Term. Please coordinate with him if you need a make up lesson and you have not heard from him. Regular lessons will resume on Saturday, April 16th.

Selected intermediate and advanced students will be performing at the Fernbank Museum this coming weekend. There is a neat exhibit about music and our students have been invited to perform at this wonderful venue. Thank you Dr. Sheikh for arranging this!

Wishing safe travels to all that are going out of town.

Spring Term begins Jan 18th!

Getting ready for Spring Term, 2016!

Hello Students! We hope you had an enjoyable Holiday Season and we wish you all a wonderful New Year. We anticipate a wonderful and exciting year of piano training, new repertoire, improved technique and great performances! We look forward to working with each of you to explore and develop your potential and musical goals. Spring Term lessons begin on Monday, January 18. The teaching schedule will remain the same unless we contact you for time adjustments. Keep track of the lesson weeks on the calendars in your assignment folders and on the website for extra activities.

During this term, we will announce Master Classes for both  Book 1 and Intermediate/Advanced students and additional performance opportunities. A few of our parents have expressed interest in organizing student performances at local area retirement homes, the Sheppard Spine Center and other similar venues. You will receive an email about these activities shortly. We will announce the dates and particulars on the website as well. If you can coordinate and volunteer with this endeavor, let the organizers know after you hear from them. Meanwhile, we will work with our students to prepare for their performances throughout the term.

Please refer to the Studio Policy about lesson procedures in order to make the transition between students as efficient as possible. If you are early, please enter at the front entrance and wait quietly in the upper waiting room – try not to disturb the lesson in the main studio. Enter your studio at exactly your lesson time to swap seats with the previous student. It is a good idea to use the restroom moments before you begin your lesson and wash your hands and have a drink of water.

Tuition is due for either the monthly plan or the new term. We prefer that you mail the payment now, however you may bring it with you for the first lesson of the term if necessary.

We welcome our new students! You will receive your Book and CD set and an assignment folder at your first lesson. We are very excited for the opportunity to share our knowledge and skills and look forward hearing you play each week.

Mireille and Francisco Silva have developed one of the most innovative piano programs to date! With the Silva piano method and her enthusiasm for music, her enthusiasm for her students, and the way she enables a student to move along to an advanced level of piano skills quickly, I HIGHLY recommend her. This is one piano teacher who needs to be teaching other music teachers! I have been her student, as has my daughter. I have used other piano methods and the Silva method is far and away the best.
