Welcome to Silva Piano Studios
Located in East Cobb, Marietta GA
Natasha and Mrs. Silva at the piano.
At Silva Piano Studios, we offer piano instruction for children five years old through adults with all levels of training from beginner through university prep and beyond. Students learn to master the fundamentals of playing the piano in less time than other methods with our specially designed “Silva Piano Method©”. This approach is the result of over 20 years of research. Together, we have more than 60 years of combined teaching experience.
In only one year, beginners as young as five years old can learn how to play and read music at a level that is normally achieved in 3-5 years with other methods and adults are able to play their first Bach, Beethoven and Chopin pieces!
Intermediate and advanced students focus on developing technique and repertoire. There are a number of venues in which our students perform such as the Fernbank Museum, retirement homes, piano competitions and other recurring recital opportunities. A number of our students have successfully auditioned for various university music programs, completed advanced degrees in music and are professional musicians or teachers.
Prospective students are normally invited to contact us to schedule a free lesson/audition however, our teaching schedules are completely full at this time. You may contact us to get on our waiting list!

Students attend concerts at Symphony Hall this past weekend!
What a great weekend it was indeed! A group of our students and friends were privileged to attend a solo organ concert given by virtuoso organist, Cameron Carpenter at Atlanta’s Symphony Hall on Friday night and again on Sunday afternoon with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for the Poulenc Concerto and the Saint-Saens Organ Symphony. Mr. Carpenter is touring with a magnificent digital organ built by Marshall & Ogletree. We heard lots of selections including Bach, Scriabin, an original composition by Carpenter, a silent movie with the organ accompaniment (a real treat for everyone!) and his acclaimed transcription of Bernstein’s Candide Overture. It was exciting to hear this organ pitted against the full orchestra and holding it’s own. The immense power of the instrument enhanced the orchestra’s depth of color and volume, and the sensation of the vibrations is something you cannot get from a cd or You Tube listening experience.
We got to meet Mr. Carpenter, have him sign programs, cd’s, Oak’s organ scores and organ shoes! Mr. Carpenter was incredibly gracious to personally invite our students to see the organ and have a chance to try it out. Oak and Samantha also study the organ and this was a chance of a lifetime! Oak had a glorious time on the instrument and is more motivated than ever to study his music! The message from Mr. Carpenter to the “little ones” as he called them was to “keep practicing”! The other young pianists who attended were David, Sage and Rory and our adult students, Kim and David.
Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a great holiday season!
We are letting you know about a concert that will be held right around the corner at Kennesaw State University coming up on January 8. It will feature the KSU Orchestra and Wind Ensemble and a local band, von Grey. Cool stuff! Check it out and enjoy some live music – hope to see you there.
Students, check out the Student Portal, there is a link to the KSU concerts now under Local Venues and we posted some recordings of Book Two pieces. We will keep you posted on more activities here at the studios and new things that will be added to the website and You Tube channels. Meanwhile, try to review your recital pieces, repertoire lists, scales and some technique to keep things fresh until lessons start again on January 19th. Don’t forget to just have fun with your music:)

Parents, see the link on our “Silva Piano Method” page to a Malcolm Gladwell article that is very interesting about children and learning. It is entitled, “The Examined Life” and found in the New Yorker Magazine from 2001. We extracted an excerpt and you can find it on the same page.
Calling on our former students far and wide: We invite you to share your success and we will add you to a new page highlighting the successes of past student! Let us know about your achievements whether it be in music or another field: conductor of an orchestra (Andrew), power lawyer in New York City (Sabrina), seniors studying music at a university (Emily and Katie), Georgia Tech graduate and successful bio medical engineer (Melanie) and many more. A few of you are raising families of your own by now! Let us know where you graduated and what you are doing now. Send us a few lines, links, photos and videos we can share. Link us to your websites and social media pages and stay in touch once in a while or regularly to keep your information updated.
Students: you have all made an amazing start and are practicing well! You are all improving- learning faster, your technique is getting better, nice attention to detail and other great qualities are evident. Parents: you are doing a great job!
Mireille and Francisco Silva have developed one of the most innovative piano programs to date! With the Silva piano method and her enthusiasm for music, her enthusiasm for her students, and the way she enables a student to move along to an advanced level of piano skills quickly, I HIGHLY recommend her. This is one piano teacher who needs to be teaching other music teachers! I have been her student, as has my daughter. I have used other piano methods and the Silva method is far and away the best.
